Kenia Cueto, Ph.D.
Business Partnership & Innovation Specialist
Bio:
Dr. Kenia Cueto is the Business Partnership and Innovation
Specialist at North Orange County ROP. She serves as a catalyst for
establishing, strengthening, and leveraging partnerships with the private and
public sectors including businesses, community groups, educational
institutions, foundations, government agencies/officials and partner school Districts
in order to provide high quality, innovative Career Technical Education (CTE)
programs and opportunities to over 16,000 adult and high school students in five
school districts.
Dr. Cueto has garnered respect as a scholar, researcher,
author, and presenter. Her partnership expertise helps her connect with
industry leaders and stakeholders within all levels of education (K-12,
community college, and university). Her experience facilitates her ability to
secure diverse funding for educational projects, connect industry partners with
key academic stakeholders, bring CTE awareness throughout the community, and
create transformational partnerships.
She holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree from Cal State
University Long Beach and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. Dr.
Cueto also holds a Ph.D. - Doctor of Philosophy Education in Cultural and
Curricular Studies from Chapman University. She completed three years of
research with Chapman University and one year of dissertation research in the
area of Community-University Partnerships.

WORK-BASED LEARNING
ROP is
committed to the belief that students learn best through hands-on learning
experiences that provide the opportunity to learn skills not available in
regular classroom programs.
FOCUSED CURRICULUM
For every ROP
course, approximately 7.6 businesses serve on local advisory boards to support
a rigorous approach in developing industry-approved curriculum that is relevant
in today's economy.
BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS
Local
businesses help ROP by providing learning sites and making sure that classrooms
are equipped with modern, industry-standard technology. In return, ROP provides
businesses with a qualified workforce.
REGIONAL DELIVERY
ROP closely
studies labor trends to ensure programs fit the local workforce needs of a
community and to ensure ROP students have an opportunity to secure employment
or receive advanced training upon completing a program.
